New well-being information for all Iowa attorneys

The Esquire Assistance Program (EAP) offers free, confidential support for all Iowa lawyers, judges, court reporters, and their families, regardless of membership in a bar association. Call 800-EAP-IOWA (800-327-4692) to reach a masters-level counselor 24/7. EAP’s services also include life coaching, financial counseling, and childcare/eldercare resources, among others. When you call, just let them know you are an Iowa lawyer, court reporter, or family member.

If you would value assistance with a legal peer, the Iowa Lawyer Assistance Program (ILAP) can help. Call 515-277-3817 or email ILAP Executive Director and attorney Joe Quinn ([email protected]). Both EAP and ILAP’s services are completely confidential.

Law practice can feel overwhelming. If you or someone close to you feels suicidal, call or text 988, the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, at any time.

Last, the ISBA is looking for participants for their “Iowa State Bar Association Alcohol Experiment.” More information about the program and registration info can be found on the ISBA's website. It is a guided experience designed to provide you with a different perspective on alcohol and drinking. The Kickoff meeting is on March 26th, with weekly meetings each Thursday during April. Please consider giving it a try!
